Tell me, have you considered scuba diving? I absolutely love my job and love sharing any knowledge I have gained over the past 10 years. Let me know if you have any questions about scuba diving, ocean, PADI, working as a dive instructor etc!! Don't forget to check out the tshirts from which funds go to the plastic free fund!

Check out the day in the life of a PADI instructor here : https://youtu.be/iiEnqhqwmA0

  2. Off topic, but I adore your eyemakeup.

I've not considered scuba diving because I don't like swimming very much, but that can change over time. I would recommend a rescue course for everyone, it is very helpful (thankfully I never had to help someone, but I heard this from others) and gives you confidence. I had one a few years ago, my school required that, but the group was big and we had no time to go deeper, we just learned the basic stuff. When I have the time (and money) I would like to make an other one.

Even not diving I think it is always dangerous to underestimate unknown water – I was on a tiny island in Bretagne (where my parents live) that had a causeway – we walked out to it across a beach and then the tide came in and we realised we were trapped – but the water looked shallow so we set off to wade back to shore – the water was shallow but the current was ridiculously strong and even though all of us were very strong swimmers we ended up unable to continue and having to grab the smallest of our party when they got pulled off their feet. We made it back to the island but were now soaked through and the coast guard had to come out and rescue us as the little island was exposed to string winds and hypothermia problems were setting in for the two youngest – it wasn’t clearly marked that this part of the beach was an island and so the risks were not clear when walking over to that part of the beach – but the main problem was us then underestimating the danger of both the water and the cold!

I'm not a diver. Heck, I can barely swim in a pool. But I can see that plastic is killing our planet. And pair that with the most of the people eating meat and other animal byproducts… We're killing our planet and ourselves…
And I'm tired to go someplace and find a ton of plastic stuff and other trash. I try to pick up as much trash as I can carry (from the things that I find already lying there). But I don't know how to help people understand that we need to be more careful, and not throw the bottles and other trash everywhere. If they at least pick them up and take them to recycle…
